Enrolling New Members Now! 🌸🪻🌸 Our first Garden Story Project Starts January 2027
The Family Garden Story is designed for families who want to experience the magic of both the children's and adult reading adventures together. Each Month will have books for each centered on the same theme.
Each month, your family will have the opportunity to experience:
📚 One Adult Book
📖 Children's Books (multiple reading levels)
🌱 A Family Garden Challenge
🎨 A Hands-On Family Project
🌎 A Community Adventure
Parents, caregivers or grandparents can enjoy the adult book while children explore their own story. Then everyone comes back together for activities that connect the two.
This is where the whole family comes together!
For example, an adult book about pollinators might be paired with a children's story about bees. Your family might then:
🐝 Build a pollinator habitat
🌼 Plant flowers together
🎨 Make a bee-themed craft
📚 Compare what the two books taught you
🌱 Visit a local garden
🤝 Participate in a community stewardship project
Members explore one carefully selected adult book each month, connecting literature with gardening, nature, history, sustainability, herbal wisdom, and community.
Members can expect:
📚 Monthly adult book discussions
🌿 Hands-on garden projects
🍵 Seasonal workshops and demonstrations
🌱 Gardening and plant education
🐝 Nature and environmental exploration
🤝 Volunteer opportunities
🌎 Community stewardship projects
👩🌾 Guest speakers and special experiences
Some months may take us into a garden. Others may take us into a workshop, a historic site, a nature trail, or a community service project.
We don't just read about the world—we step outside and experience it.
Our Children's Garden Stoy brings stories to life through a monthly children's book, hands-on crafts, garden discoveries, and family challenges.
Each month, young members will:
📚 Discover a new children's book
🎨 Create a hands-on craft to take home
🌱 Explore a garden or nature theme
🐞 Investigate the world around them
🌼 Complete a family Grow-Along Challenge
🌎 Participate in community adventures
The children's group meets separately from the adults so our youngest gardeners can learn, explore, and share at their own level.
Every book opens a garden gate—and every young reader gets to decide where the adventure leads.
A new story, a handmade creation, a garden challenge, and hopefully a little dirt under their fingernails!
Our books are invitations, not assignments.
The Garden Stories Project uses books to connect children and families with nature, gardening, creativity, literacy, and one another. Because every child is different, families are encouraged to choose the reading format, pace, and level of participation that works best for their child. Some stories may bring laughter. Some may inspire curiosity. Some may bring big feelings or thoughtful questions. That's part of the beauty of reading together. Our goal isn't to see who can read the hardest book. Our goal is to help children discover that books, gardens, and communities are places where they belong.
